ESTABLISHED AS A CHARTER SCHOOL OF THE DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA. THEODORE R. AND THELMA A. GIBSON CHARTER SCHOOL, INC.'S MISSION IS TO PREPARE ITS STUDENTS ACADEMICALLY AND SOCIALLY FOR SUCCESS IN A GLOBAL COMMUNITY WITH EMPHASIS IN ACADEMIC PROFICIENCY. THE CORE PHILOSOPHY AND UNDERLYING PURPOSE OF THE GIBSON CHARTER SCHOOL IS REFLECTED IN THE FOLLOWING CONCEPTS: HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS, CREATIVE ENDEAVORS AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE STUDENT GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, AND AN INCREASE IN SELF-ESTEEM THROUGH MECHANICS THAT ENSURE THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE STUDENT'S SELF-IMAGE AS LEARNERS.
