NEC/ECP CONFERENCE - The NEG/ECP is a long-standing special relationship among the six New England Governors and the five Eastern Canadian premiers. In addition to the annual meeting of the governors and premiers, NEG/ECP has several joint committees of state and provincial officials to conduct analysis on priority issues and provide regular reports to the governors and premiers. The Center assumed secretariat responsibilities for the NEG/ECP in 2012. Including on-going staff support to the various committees, as well as support to direct activities of the governors and premiers, including their annual meeting. The six states provide funding support for this expanded regional work of the Center.The annual NEG/ECP conference meeting alternates between the provinces and the states, with the co-chair typically serving as host. The New England governors directed that financial funding for the meetings held in the states is to be separate and distinct from the CONEG related membership assessments. The Center maintains a separate NEG/ECP cost center for all conference-related revenues and expenses.
