IN MARCH, FAITH IN ACTION ALABAMA LEADERS FROM ALL FOUR HUBS PARTICIPATED IN THE ORGANIZATIONS FIRST STATE LEGISLATIVE DAY. THE EVENT PROVIDED OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH STATE LEGISLATORS AND RAISING THE FAITH VOICE IN OPPOSITION TO MASS INCARCERATION AND THE PRISON BUILDING BILL. FAITH IN ACTION ALSO HELD ITS FOUNDING CONVENTION ATTENDED BY OVER 1,000 PEOPLE FROM ACROSS THE STATE. THE CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTED PERSONAL TESTAMONIES OF SYSTEMIC RACISM AND WHITE PRIVILEGE. POLICY ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED TO EXPLAIN KEY PUBLIC DECISIONS THAT HAVE DRIVEN AND DRIVE SYSTEMIC RACISM. STEPS WERE IDENTIFIED FOR DISMANTLING SYSTEMIC RACISM.

FAITH IN ACTION ALABAMA IS DELIGHTED TO REPORT THAT MORE PEOPLE VOTED IN 2017 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS THAN IN THE 2013 ELECTIONS. LEADING UP THE THE DECEMBER 12TH SPECIAL GENERAL SENATE ELECTION FOR THE SEAT FORMERLY HELD BY ATTORNEY JEFF SESSION, FAITH IN ACTION MADE OVER 22,000 CALLS.
