THEY WERE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE IN HIGH MOUNTAIN ACTIVITIES SUCH AS CANOEING, HIKING, HORSEBBACK RIDING, FISHING OR JUST RELAXING. THIS GIVES THEM THE CHANCE TO DECOMPRESS TO SOME EXTENT FROM THE TRAUMA SOLDIERS EXPERIENCE IN WAR AND THAT FAMILY MEMBERS ARE AFFECTED BY. THEY CAN REFLECT ON THEIR OWN OR SHARE EXPERIENCES WITH EACH OTHER WHICH HELP THEM DEAL WITH WHAT THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED. ONE OF THE GREAT DYNAMICS THAT HAPPENS AS A RESULT OF SHARED EXPERIENCES IS THAT THESE WARRIORS AND THEIR FAMILIES REALIZE THAT THEIR FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS ARE NOT UNIQUE TO THEM AND THAT OTHERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. A LOCAL GUEST RANCH DONATED THE WEEK TO THESE PARTICIPANTS. LODGING, MEALS, HORSES AND SUCH WITH A RETAIL VALUE OF $27,000. EXPENSES TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR TRAVEL TO THE CAMP WERE $4,917. They were given the opportunity to engage in high mountain activities such as canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, fishing or just relaxing. > This gives them the chance to decompress to some extent from the trauma soldiers experience in war and that family members are affected by. They can reflect on their own or share experiences with each other which helps them deal with what they have experienced. One of the great dynamics that happens as a result of shared experiences is that these warriors and their families realize that their feelings and emotions are not unique to them and that others have the same issues. > A local guest rance donated the two weeks to these participants. Lodging, meals, horses and such with a retail value of $30,600. > Other expenses were to provide assistance to travel to the Camp ($1,398); supplies for events ($3,820) and transportation expenses ($1,453).
