GREAT PLAINS HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION CENTERED 2016 ACTIVITY AROUND THE MINUTES MATTER CAMPAIGN IN AN EFFORT TO RAISE $3.5 MILLION FOR THE EXPANSION AND RENOVATION OF THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AT GREAT PLAINS HEALTH. THE GOAL WAS SET AS A CHALLENGE BY A GRATEFUL PATIENT PHILANTHROPIST WHO HAD PLEDGED A $5 MILLION GIFT IF THE GOAL WAS MET. BY THE END OF 2016, OVER $3 MILLION HAD BEEN GIFTED OR PLEDGED AND THE CAMPAIGN WAS ANTICIPATED TO BE REACHED BY Q1 OF 2017. ADDITIONAL FUNDS WERE DONATED TO HELP WITH THE FUNDING OF TOMOSYNTHESIS TECHNOLOGY FOR MAMMOGRAPHY TESTING AT THE GP IMAGING CENTER, AN OUTREACH TRAILER, UTILIZED BY THE SPORTS AND THERAPY CLINIC FOR USE THROUGHOUT THE REGION AT HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE ATHLETIC AND RODEO EVENTS. FINALLY, A NEW RADIOLUCENT IMAGING TABLE WAS PURCHASED FOR TO OUTFIT A SECOND SURGICAL SUITE WITH IMPROVED TECHNOLOGY AND IMPROVED EFFICIENCIES DURING SURGERY.
