KENOSHA YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION, INC. IS A COMMUNITY BASED RECREATIONAL AGENCY. ORGANIZED IN 1930, THE MAJOR EMPHASIS OF THE AGENCY IS ON YOUTH ACTIVITIES, FAMILY DEVELOPMENT AND PHYSICAL FITNESS STRUCTURED TO DEVELOP POSITIVE ATTITUDES, PHYSICAL HEALTH AND LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES.

KID'S CLUB, DROP-IN CHILD CARE IS ALSO OFFERED FREE TO MEMBERS; OPEN A TOTAL OF 2,168 HOURS PER YEAR SERVE AN AVERAGE OF 59 CHILDREN DAILY. MEMBERS CAN ALSO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF 640 FREE CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. BY ATTENDING NUMEROUS COMMUNITY AND CORPORATE EVENTS FOR 2012, THE KENOSHA YMCA ADDED 4 NEW CORPORATE CUSTOMERS AND SEVERAL INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIPS. THE JOHN & JUDY WAVRO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ALLOWS PEOPLE WHO COULD NOT NORMALLY AFFORD A MEMBERSHIP THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL YMCA PROGRAMS AND EVENTS. IN 2012, SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO 1,600 PEOPLE TOTALING OVER $338,536. IN RESPONSE TO THE STRESSFUL ECONOMIC TIMES, THE KENOSHA YMCA OFFERED HALLOWEEN & CHRISTMAS SPECIAL EVENTS FREE TO THE PUBLIC, SERVING FOOD, ACTIVITIES AND FAMILY FUN TO OVER 450 MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY.MEMBERSHIP - THE KENOSHA YMCA MEMBERSHIP ENDED 2011 AT 10,874 INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS INCLUDING YOUTH, ADULTS, FAMILIES AND SENIORS. THE KENOSHA YMCA IS OPEN 5,049 HOURS PER YEAR AND SERVES AN AVERAGE OF 1,000 PEOPLE PER DAY. IN 2011, SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO 1,524 PEOPLE TOTALING OVER $363,536.
