VENTURE GRANTS ARE INTENDED TO PROVIDE SHORT-TERM SUPPORT TO ENHANCE THE EXISTING CAPACITY OF AGENCIES OR TO ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW STRATEGIES OR PROGRAMS.FUND DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM - UNITED WAY VOLUNTEERS, WITH THE SUPPORT OF UNITED WAY STAFF PERFORM AN IN-DEPTH REVIEW AND ALLOCATE FUNDS FROM THE ANNUAL PLEDGE DRIVE TO 73 LOCAL PROGRAMS AT 27 LOCAL PARTNER AGENCIES. THE PROGRAMS MUST ADDRESS IDENTIFIED COMMUNITY NEEDS, TRACK PROGRAM OUTCOMES AND ACHIEVE POSITIVE RESULTS IN THE FOLLOWING IMPACT AREAS: EDUCATION, INCOME AND HEALTH. TWENTY-FIVE VENTURE GRANTS WERE ALSO AWARDED TO LOCAL 501(C)(3) HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS IN LA CROSSE, MONROE, TREMPEALEAU, & VERNON COUNTIES IN WISCONSIN AND HOUSTON COUNTY IN MINNESOTA BY ADVISORY COUNCILS IN EACH COUNTY. VENTURE GRANTS ARE TIME-LIMITED, NON- RENEWABLE GRANTS.
