YOUNG ARTISTS OF AMERICA, INC. (YAA) IS A 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION OFFERING MUSICAL TRAINING TO GIFTED AND COMMITTED PERFORMING ARTISTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. TOOK PLACE AT SANDY SPRING FRIENDS SCHOOL IN SANDY SPRING, MD.THE FIRST ANNUAL SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR SINGERS ENROLLED 42 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO STUDIED VOCAL REPERTOIRE THAN SPANNED FROM CLASSICAL (OPERA AND ART SONG) TO MUSICAL THEATRE. FACULTY INCLUDED MASTER TEACHERS FROM CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY, PEABODY CONSERVATORY, METROPOLITAN OPERA AND BALTIMORE SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS. STUDENTS TOOK PART IN MOVEMENT CLASSES, REPERTOIRE CLASSES, MASTERCLASSES AND WERE EXPOSED TO MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATIONS OF GREAT SINGERS THROUGHOUT HISTORY.
