FUNDRAISING CAPACITY THE GROWTH AND SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PRIVATE (NON-PROFIT) SUPPLIERS OF FOOD ASSISTANCE DEPENDS ON THEIR ABILITY TO RAISE FUNDS. EARLY WORK BY THE NETWORK DETERMINED THAT ACROSS THE BOARD THERE WAS OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVEMENTS IN THIS AREA. BASED ON THIS, THE INDY HUNGER NETWORK CONTRACTED WITH AN EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL FUNDRAISING CONSULTING FIRM TO EXECUTE DEVELOPMENT AUDITS FOR FOUR OF THE NON-PROFITS WHO HAD NEVER HAD A DEVELOPMENT 'AUDIT'. DEVELOPMENT AUDITS SERVE AS A ROAD MAP FOR MAKING IMPROVEMENTS TO FUNDRAISING. A PARALLEL SERIES OF GRANTS WERE MADE FOR THOSE NON-PROFITS THAT ALREADY HAD A DEVELOPMENT AUDIT FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF A KEY ELEMENT OF THEIR ROAD MAP. THESE PROJECTS SHOULD SIGNIFICANTLY AID THE PARTNERS AS THEY WORK TO INCREASE THEIR SUSTAINABILITY.
