Sensory Friendly Films - The Autism Society and AMC Theatres collaborate monthly to provide an accepting and comfortable movie environment for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their family members. To accommodate and respect the sensory needs of individuals with ASD, the movie auditorium keeps their lights turned slightly up and the sound turned slightly down. The movie (typically G- or PG-rated) will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. and won't show advertisements or previews. People are permitted to bring their own gluten-free, casein-free snacks from home respecting dietary needs of people on the spectrum. Additionally, AMC's "Silence is Golden " policy will not be enforced unless the safety of the audience is questioned.
