UNITED WAY OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA IS A 501C3 NON-PROFIT CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION WORKING TO ADVANCE THE COMMON GOOD BY IMPROVING THE EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY AND HEALTH OF OUR MOST VULNERABLE RESIDENTS IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. EACH YEAR, WE CREATE NEW PARTNERSHIPS MOBILIZING THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO GIVE, ADVOCATE, AND VOLUNTEER TO IMPROVE THESE CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. TODAY, UNITED WAY OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA SERVES MORE THAN 350,000 RESIDENTS AND COVERS 5,860 SQUARE MILES, APPROXIMATELY 15% OF THE STATE, WHICH INCLUDES THE COUNTIES OF BLAND, BUCHANAN, CARROLL, DICKENSON, GILES, GRAYSON, LEE, RUSSELL, SCOTT, SMYTH, TAZEWELL, WASHINGTON, WISE, AND THE CITIES OF GALAX AND NORTON.
