Souper Bowl of Caring is an organization that inspires both youth and adults to get involved in the fight against hunger and hunger-related problems in their local communities. We use the annual Super Bowl game as a time to heighten the awareness of hunger and hunger-related issues and to transform this time into the nation's largest celebration of giving and serving. Our staff builds partnerships with schools, businesses, churches and charities in communities across the country. Serving as the local point of contact, our staff cultivates and maintains relationships with community partners; plans and executes community-wide events, such as Kick-Off and Service Blitz activities; prepares and distributes marketing materials, website coordination; and coordinates and executes the Souper Bowl of Caring campaign. In 2017, over 6,564 participating groups collected $10,178,659 in dollars and food items for over 4,860 charities in their local communities.Throughout the year, Souper Bowl of Caring makes it convenient for people of all backgrounds and beliefs to become a part of this movement. We provide our participants with the communication tools and materials necessary for a successful campaign. Through our website, social media, email blasts, direct mail, and community events, we keep participants engaged and motivated to serve. In addition to a wealth of free downloadable resources available on our website, we also provide free printed materials to each registered participant to assist with the success of their campaign.Because the money raised by our participants goes directly to their local charities of choice, Souper Bowl of Caring is dependent upon sustainable funding from major donors, fundraising eventS, individual donors and grants, etc. for day to day operations. This is all accomplished with a small staff.
