CRISIS INTERVENTION AND VICTIM ADVOCATE SERVICES: CRISIS INTERVENTION SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO VICTIMS OF CRIME DAILY FROM 8:30 A.M. TO 5:00 P.M. AT THE CHRISTIANSTED OFFICE. SERVICES INCLUDE COUNSELING, EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE, EMERGENCY CLOTHING ASSISTANCE, EMERGENCY SHELTER, RENTAL ASSISTANCE, COURT ADVOCACY, CHILD ADVOCACY, REFERRALS TO OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND ACCESS TO REFERENCE MATERIAL AND BROCHURES. VOLUNTEER VICTIM ADVOCATES PROVIDE PERSON-TO-PERSON RESPONSE TO VICTIMS OF CRIME WHEN THE OFFICE IS CLOSED. THESE ADVOCATES RESPOND TO VICTIMS AT THE HOSPITAL ER, POLICE STATIONS AND THROUGH A HOTLINE. ALL ADVOCATES PARTICIPATE IN AN INTENSIVE 40 HOUR TRAINING PROGRAM.
