MontPIRG's primary exempt purpose is to offer experiential educational opportunities to students for training in citizenship skills such as organizing, petitioning, writing, lobbying, and speaking on issues of public concern to students. Students have worked to advance issues throughout the college structure, local government, state government, courts, public agencies, and media.
