UWSW launched the program Dolly Partons Imagination Library in Southwest Wyoming in 2010. This program mails a free, age appropriate book every month to children from birth to age 5 that live in Lincoln, Sweetwater and Uinta counties. Currently, 2,543 children are enrolled with 2,877 having graduated from the program. This is part of our education initiative to help children be kindergarten ready. The cost is about $35 per child per year. The Dollywood Foundation pays for the books. Our job is to raise the funds for the shipping of the books, promote the program and to maintain the database by registering children and approving online registrations.
