Mission

SAFEHOUSE DENVER ASSISTS ADULTS, CHILDREN, AND YOUTH IN RECLAIMING THEIR RIGHT TO A LIFE FREE FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. THE AGENCY PROVIDES A BROAD SPECTRUM OF CULTURALLY COMPETENT , TRAUMA INFORMED SERVICES INCLUDING: EMERGENCY SHELTER; SAFETY PLANNING; INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING; PERSONAL ADVOCACY; SUPPORT GROUPS; PARENTING SESSIONS; LEGAL ADVOCACY; A 24-HOUR CRISIS AND INFORMATION LINE. SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE NON- RESIDENTIAL COUNSELING AND ADVOCACY CENTER AS WELL AS THROUGH THE EMERGENCY SHELTER. SAFEHOUSE DENVER ALSO INCREASES COMMUNITY AWARENESS AND ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE INTERVENTION IN, AND PREVENTION OF, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE THROUGH ITS COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM.

THROUGH TEEN DATING VIOLENCE PREVENTION GROUPS, 67 YOUTH WERE REACHED.THE COUNSELING AND ADVOCACY CENTER OFFERS NON-RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT AND COUNSELING TO ADULTS AND CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN VICTIMIZED BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, BUT DO NOT NEED EMERGENCY SHELTER. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 03/13/15, 686 ADULT SURVIVORS RECEIVED ADVOCACY-BASED INDIVIDUAL OR SUPPORT GROUP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COUNSELING. AN ADDITIONAL 542 ADULTS RECEIVED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EDUCATION, CRISIS INTERVENTION, SAFETY PLANNING AND ADVOCACY-BASED COUNSELING BY TELEPHONE TWO OR MORE TIMES. THROUGH TEEN DATING VIOLENCE PREVENTION GROUPS, 106 YOUTH WERE REACHED.THE COUNSELING AND ADVOCACY CENTER OFFERS NON-RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT AND COUNSELING TO ADULTS AND CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN VICTIMIZED BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, BUT DO NOT NEED EMERGENCY SHELTER. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 03/13/14, 618 ADULT SURVIVORS RECEIVED ADVOCACY-BASED INDIVIDUAL OR SUPPORT GROUP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COUNSELING. AN ADDITIONAL 612 ADULTS RECEIVED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EDUCATION, CRISIS INTERVENTION, SAFETY PLANNING AND ADVOCACY-BASED COUNSELING BY TELEPHONE TWO OR MORE TIMES. THROUGH TEEN DATING VIOLENCE PREVENTION GROUPS, 159 YOUTH WERE REACHED.COUNSELING AND ADVOCACY CENTER OFFERS NON-RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT AND COUNSELING TO ADULTS AND CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN VICTIMIZED BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE BUT DO NOT NEED EMERGENCY SHELTER. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 3/31/13, 535 ADULT SURVIVORS RECEIVED SERVICES IN ADDITION TO 225 CHILDREN AND YOUTH. THROUGH TEEN DATING VIOLENCE PRESENTATIONS, AN ADDITIONAL 229 YOUTH WERE REACHED. FINALLY, 605 ADDITIONAL ADULT SURVIVORS RECEIVED SERVICES VIA TELEPHONE.
